Shinrin Yoku - A new trend in Bavaria too?

Shinrin Yoku, translated as “forest bathing,” is widespread in Japan and is a general, state-sponsored health prevention measure. The target group is stress-ridden city dwellers, managers and all those who want to find inner peace again. But isn't it enough to go to the city park for a short time? Drinking a beer in a beer garden surrounded by greenery can also be completely relaxing.
What is the secret of Shinrin Yoku or forest bathing?
It is well known that a hike or even a walk in the forest is relaxing and that you do something for your health. And many studies have already proven the positive effect of forests on humans. Why does it have to be “forest bathing” now?
Forest bathing is about experiencing the forest as a whole and feeling the healing power. When hiking, we usually have a goal in mind: to hike the route within a certain period of time and to be active in sports. Anyone who observes a group of hikers hiking will notice that the group does not necessarily pay attention to nature, but is more about a social get-together. And when you go for a walk, you often have your cell phone back in your hand and are easily distracted. Forest bathing, on the other hand, means letting your mind wander and completely switching off.

Dive into the forest
Who can still remember their childhood? What was it like running through the forest as a three-cheese high? Wasn't the forest a very special adventure playground that you discovered and experienced with all your senses? Leaves and branches were picked up, insects, berries and plants were discovered, and the secrets of the forest were discovered. And wasn't it fun?
The purpose of forest bathing is to return there. Experience the forest again through children's eyes. Admire 400-year-old trees, brush your hands over the soft moss, let yourself fall into leaves. Take your time, breathe in the fresh air and immerse yourself in nature.

Learn forest bathing properly
Finding inner peace, letting your mind wander, slowing down and switching off mentally is not that easy and requires some practice. It is therefore a good idea to do forest bathing with a professional coach.
